Between the olive trees of Arraiolos, Portugal
Not far away from Lisbon, nor that far from the beach, and just a few kilometres from Évora, UNESCO World Heritage city. In Arraiolos rests this boutique hotel, Villa Extramuros, with marvellous interiors. The basic formula: white backgrounds, and let colours speak their language - red and black mostly (almost De Stijl). No margin for errors as it would be expected when praising the surrounding haven, which is gorgeous.
Notice how the carpets stand out, which does not surprise us a bit. Arraiolos is best known for the art of crafting carpets, and my guess would be they were all locally produced. Really love the ones below, in black and white.
