Jazz in Sydney

Cheery but mellow enough, these spaces tell much from the colours they dress. Gives the chills with that much coolness, because of it's blatant amount of white and yellow, pink, fluo stuff. And when you throw in to the mix some natural textures, you can feel it relax a bit. Kind of jazzy too. Intelectuality and instinct. Not raw, but classy, if you notice the decor closely.

We guess this is the main reason why we should relate with a lively but rationalized interior decor. Our house should space us and provoke our inner sensibility to feel and think, evolve. Get the full picture after the jump!

We're back with more decor inspiration. Have a look at this wonderful image collection and render this picture of a green/red-less christmas. Reduced to black and white, and maybe with a pinch of gold. Perfect.

Also, we love you, readers!

Eat... Drink... Americano!

Yet, another black slate... The perfect medium to announce the perfect gluttony fest. Big beautiful letters that don't fall short as a decor asset. But it goes on... Worn furniture. Check! Brick walls. Check! Reclaimed wood. Check! Perfect photos of food... Yup! Right after the jump!

Great bold pieces made in Vietnam, and designed by the Glimpt, swedish duo. Vibrant and appetizing!

Chalk Wall

The Smitten Studio of Sarah Samuel, with a great view on black slate. You might consider it a somewhat risky investment, because you must also embrace the fact that chalk dust can be tricky to clean, and accept it as a decor asset.

In this case in particular, we love the way how this was applied as another regular black wall, that can be used to make contrast with art, plus the bonus of... Writing! Also, you can't miss the fact that matte is sexy. Browse through these pictures and see by yourself why this new black can be so charming.

A Modern Shanghai in Melbourne

Under the topic of reclaimed materials, this interior design example must be one of the best examples around. It's David's restaurant, located in Melbourne, and the design held by Hecker and Guthrie. Contrasts are hot, but at the same time they're also very soothing, that can easily charm us into pleasant and relaxing food experience. It's like entering inside tea, in the best way possible... erm... Not imagining hot water burns, huh?... Anyway!... Check the images by yourself, and note those lamps. It's all sooo delicious!

Minuscule Chair by Cecilie Manz

Yeah, we love Fritz Hansen. Here, the Minuscule chair, by Cecilie Manz. A fresh one, pulled out from the Milan fair. It's a straight shot on good taste, and it's elegant enough so it doesn't clog your space. Also, beautiful upholstery colours for everyone.

Free Mind of Shantell Martin

Don't have the dough for wallpaper? Do you fancy drawing and wish for better walls? Do-it-yourself... With a sharpie! Even if you can't do it, c'mon! You must know someone with a knack for drawing! Seriously, there's a lot of talented people out there. No excuse here!

This is the room of Shantell Martin, a Broklyn-based artist. So, she's got a flair for this, but she wasn't sure about the whole idea until she tried it. So go ahead! You can always paint the walls again. All this below the price of wallpaper. Curious about the results? More after the jump!

Light by Jean-Marc Palisse

It must be really inspiring to work in these environments, when the models are pure beauty. And in this case, Mr. Palisse negates any secondary light sources to give emphasis on THE light source available. Which is a clever choice, as you can see, because you get contrast to define your space volumes and colour sharpness.

This makes it a good matter of interior design. One must get full awareness of the light sources available, be them natural or artificial. And by the act of simple observation, choose the best decor placement. Don't let a powerful colour fade out, steeped in shadow, for example. Get more after the jump.

The New Norm

The purpose was pure show-off: the new dinnerware of New Norm. On the way they picked one of the best photographers, plus one of the most talented stylists around, and a really tasty restaurant — the Höst. The results: incredibly inspiring earthy tones.

The Rad Art of Alex Menocal

Simplicity in art f* rules, and when the execution is clear as water, it rules too. Renoir once said "The purpose of painting is to decorate the walls". Simple. Sounds good enough to us, so we want this to spread. Decorate your walls!

You might want to consider Alex Menocal to do the job. He creates this powerful and triangulated art, with paint, tape, watercolour, whatever he can reach for. We got excited by the potential of this, in interior design, as he shows it in some of the indoors pictures. It works great! Colour easily comes to you and it adds a little bit of radness in life, with some deliciously destabilizing diagonals. See for yourself what's this all about, after the jump.

Weekend Sofa

Yup! Thy favourite tool for weekends. A killer sofa from the Fritzies, designed by, yours truly, Jaime. It almost doesn't matter if your room is just clumsy and clutter-ish, because it will enlighten your space for sure. We invite you to take a walk through these incredible photos by Ditte Isager, and get the inspiring details and colours below, before you get to your now-boring tool.

Sexy in the Mountain

Time for some cabin porn, with extra-fur! Sheepskins, a little something to cozy things up, and you can notice that it goes well with wood tones too. It's all typically brown and the glass textures are there to make it all a bit more sexy, lighter, with elegant transparencies: lamps, coffee table, chandeliers... This pratically sums up the perfect mix for a romantic night stay in the mountains. Sounds good? Click it!

NEW by Campana

It's not exactly new, but you might need to see this again. We just handpicked what we think it's the best from this hotel in Athens. After all, it's Campana... Everything you love about them is everywhere, plus, there's faceted furniture. It's all for your futuristic soul pleasure! Colours are top notch, and gold fits in beautifully, adding the class. Check the beautiful scenery with reclaimed wood, after the jump!

The Comfy Headquarters

We love the practice of Ábaton, a madrilenian studio. Perfectly humble housings, delivers more of the content than the "structure", and we more than agree! This is their showroom designed to represent their vision, and it's also their office, down in the basement. But it's the social spaces that surprised us! The white is there, decor is sculptural, and beautiful points of colour that enlivens the spaces. Check it out!

Brown Ombré — Palette Inspiration

Beautiful, beautiful color shades! See how these, apparently unpromising, raw walls gracefully fits in. It's incredibly inspiring. Look, we've prepared a small palette to boost your inspiration!

Woodgazing Between the Bricks

Wood for thought! Never get enough of wood AND don't forget to plant trees. It is just charming to see the warmth of it all, indoors. The texture, the veins, the grain, and the colour... Goes well with brick too!

This is the house of Rebekah's 4-piece-family, in Adelaide, and out of curiosity she's co-founder of the Bowerbird Bazaar. Have a look at one of the best decors we've seen in awhile. Learn the importance of getting the best stuffing, and how much it matter to enlighten and to give soul to your spaces. I particularly love the two Jacob Logos paintings. A nice expressionist touch!

Industrial Classicism — B&B Italia

I think we've never seen such this good presentation, by the fellow citizens at B&B Italia. The right pieces in the right place. Elegant, sexy, and it obviously manages to have an italian flavor, a well round modernism. Maybe it's because it looks like an old sculpture barrack... It's indeed a nice workshop with the right ingredients. You can have pretty great indoors with raw walls and high-quality furniture. More below!

Grey Interplay

Today, a swift change towards grey. It is indeed dramatic, certainly not for the faint of the heart. In our humble opinion it's worth it. You'll get this strong, flavorful, and dense environment full of attitude, and still, it's neutral enough, with a generous margin for free expression: pink, orange, blue, red, green, gold, silver... By the way, you can even play with different slabs of grey, interplaying with the chromatic temperature, with the warmth and the coolness of it. Get more of this scenario, after the jump!

Femininity Fête

Another australian home, this one is owned by Annabelle Kerslake, ex-florist, half Fête Press. You quickly get clear femininity from all details. The clean background, floral everywhere, the furry carpets, the fluorescents pinks/blues, together with dark, earthy tones that make those sweet contrasts along the way. And an overall organic and gossamer feeling, make this a classy and classic decor. Just maybe, we would love to see more of the brown tones.

Get it all after the jump, and then, have a look at their publications at Fête. Ready yourself to drool!

Open Bar Colour Party in Brazil

Brazilian homes, we love them! Bright happy colours and the best sunshine! This one, in particular, has one of the most spectacular and functional kitchens we've seen in awhile. It's practically a bar, we love it! And together with the openness of the social space, it's perfect for dance parties. More colours after the jump!

Mint & White

A perfect colour combination on these pics. Pay attention to this Weekday Carnival blog. Besides the fact that it's pratically stuffed with only-perfect items, it is managed by some kind of DIY master and respective family... Interesting...
